A quick update from the busy new parents
Well here we are one happy family. Daxton B. Robinson was placed into our arms on Aug. 12th at 10:30 pm and was 7lbs 3oz and 20 inches long. He’s a very healthy and a very handsome little boy. Everything went pretty smooth and pretty fast which of course we are both very grateful for.
I went to work on the 11th and when I got off I told my boss I was not feeling so well and was pretty sure that that was going to be my last day. The next morning, low and behold my contractions started so I stayed busy until they got closer. McKay actually drove back from his rotation in Colorado so he could go to one of my regular prenatal appointments. When he got home he said, “Ready to go to your appt. Jess?” I said, “I am pretty sure we need to just go to the hospital.” And we were off! Of course we needed to stop at Sonic for happy hour drinks on the way. I thought my contractions where about 4-5 min. apart but when they hooked me up it was more like 2-3. Like I said it went pretty fast and I was definitely ready for my epidural. When I got my epidural my blood pressure dropped so they had to turn in down but I think it actually ended up being a positive problem in the end. Long story short, I got my epidural, was 6 cm dilated, they broke my water and he was in my arms all in about 1 hr 30 min.
Daxton is now 8 days old and is doing great. His 1st appt. was yesterday and he did wonderful. We feel very grateful for this wonderful little blessing in our lives, he is such a pure and sweet little boy. Our hearts are definitely full of love and couldn’t ask for anything more. (except for more sleep!)
As a side note and a very important one……We are celebrating 5 years of being married today and boy it has been a amazing 5 yrs. It’s hard to explain really how happy we are. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have a wonderful marriage and a happy healthy baby.
5 Wonderful Years!
