Look in a Book

Look
in a book
and you will see
words and magic
and mystery.

Look
in a book
and you will find
sense and nonsense
of every kind.

Look
in a book
and you will know
all the things
that can help you grow.

I cant even explain enough how much Daxton is enjoying books these days. Basically anywhere we are he can spot any book in the room and want nothing to do with me and just discover it. Every morning when we come down stairs I put him down and he immediately crawls over with all the excitement one boy can have, looks at the book case of a couple dozen books and seems to find his favorite 4. "I love you Stinky Face" "The Monster at the end of this book" "Barnyard Dance" and "Where is Puppy?" He finds the smooth side, (the spine) quickly flips it over so he can pry it open and start turning the pages over and over again enjoying the illustration. McKay and I love it when he is reading he looks very wise or how he intensely reads by jabbering away like a pro as if he has been reading his whole life. Reading to him is even more fun.  He loves listening to the excitement and different pitches in our voice. Hes getting so BIG!

Gateway Discovery and a sleepover!

We had my nieces over for a weekend and had lots of fun watching movies and eating popcorn, shopping, painting our nails, helping me scrapbook and spending the day at Discovery Gateway in SLC. Discovery Gateway was a blast! There is SO MUCH to see and do plus it was so fun for Dax too getting to watch and participate in many things that the girls did also. We figured in the end that we didn’t even get to about 25% of it after about 5 hrs of being there. I would recommend it to anyone with kiddos.

We made it on the news!
Spinning the handle and watching the balls jump around
Plinko!

Playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"

The construction zone

Helping Grace run the crane

Playing house
Dax could actually pick these flowers
The GIANT room
The girls set up these huge dominoes
...then got in between them while they got knocked over

Finding some gold

This was the best part for Dax and the girls. Dax ran around the play store getting his shopping done like a pro!
About to pay for all his groceries
Giving mom and dad a BIG hint that they need to eat more fruits and veggies

All the way to the top
Organizing the produce....or in Dax's case just plain mixing it up and throwing it around.

Future Farmer!
This ones for you B
Playing with the legos with dad.

Learning about life flight and all the people that make up the life flight team.

After we went to the water fountains
That morning everyone woke up to finish watching the movie...even Dax and Sammy

Very into it as you can see :)

"Cause baby, your a firework. Come on let your colors burst!"

The 4th of July started early and ended late packed with lots of fun stuff. Dax was a trooper the whole time being as happy as ever with lots to look at and lots of cousins to keep him entertained.

We started by going to the Balloon Fest and unfortunately the wind picked up and it was too dangerous so they didn't go up

Stink buggin around the park
Scooby dooby dooooooo!

Watching the fire engines. Surprisingly the loud noises, bangs and sirens didn't bother him

Walking around the little shops while the parade was still going on. Totally worth it! No crowds :)

At the car show with my family in Nana's red wagon.

Just along for the ride. After we went to get ice cream and pretzels at Sub Zero

We ended the day by going to my parents to eat yummy food, cool of by playing in the water slide, a balloon toss and water balloon fights.

The ramifications of eating lots of boldly colored frosting on the cupcakes

McKay was the #1 target the whole time by the cousins as you can see.

Swinging away! The higher the better with this kid!

Then the irrigation came. This was always so fun for my brothers and me when we were little so now the grand kids get to have a blast in it.

Best Day Ever for Sammy!

Dax was very intrigued by the fireworks.  Thanks goodness he was not overly excited because I was very nervous with him trying to grab them.
